Given the expected massive file size of GTA VI, Rockstar is introducing a strategic timeline to help players avoid launch-day download battles. Players who purchase a digital version can begin downloading the game on November 12, a full week before launch.
In a unique move to support retail buyers, physical editions, which contain a digital download code inside a physical box instead of a disc, will also be made available at retail starting November 12.
