Apple Reports Record June Quarter Revenue, Warns of Memory Chip Cost Pressures Ahead

Apple delivered its strongest-ever June quarter, reporting revenue of $109.4 billion, a 16% year-on-year increase, driven by solid demand across global markets and particularly strong momentum in emerging economies such as India. Despite the record-breaking performance, the company cautioned that rising memory chip costs and supply constraints could create challenges for its business in the coming quarters.

The latest quarterly results highlight Apple’s continued resilience in an uncertain global economic environment. The company benefited from healthy demand for its products and services across multiple regions, helping it achieve one of its best quarterly performances.

The Americas remained Apple’s largest source of revenue, reinforcing the region’s importance to the company’s overall business. However, Greater China emerged as the fastest-growing market, recording revenue growth of 22.42% compared with the same period last year. Europe followed closely with growth of 22.4%, while the Rest of Asia Pacific region posted an increase of 15.6%.
India also continued to contribute to Apple’s expansion strategy, with the company witnessing double-digit growth in the market. The country’s increasing smartphone adoption, expanding premium consumer base, and broader retail presence have strengthened Apple’s position in one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets.

Apple reported a gross margin of 50.1% during the quarter. The figure included a temporary benefit of around 2 percentage points resulting from tariff-related refunds. While the margin remained strong, company executives noted that the current pricing environment for memory chips is becoming increasingly challenging.

According to Apple, higher memory component prices and ongoing supply limitations could place pressure on manufacturing costs in upcoming quarters. These factors may affect profitability if component costs continue to rise or if supply disruptions persist.
The semiconductor industry has been experiencing fluctuations in memory chip availability due to growing demand for artificial intelligence hardware, data centres, and advanced consumer electronics. As manufacturers compete for limited supplies of high-performance memory, component prices have moved upward, creating cost pressures for device makers worldwide.

Even with these headwinds, Apple’s latest financial performance reflects sustained consumer demand and the company’s ability to expand across major international markets. Investors will now closely watch how Apple manages supply chain challenges while maintaining profitability and supporting future product launches.

The record June quarter underscores Apple’s strong global market position, but the company’s outlook suggests that managing component costs and ensuring stable supply chains will remain key priorities in the months ahead.
