Ather Energy Records Strong Q1 Performance as Revenue Jumps 89%

Ather Energy has started FY27 on a strong note, reporting significant growth in revenue, electric scooter sales and operating performance during the first quarter.

The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer recorded ₹1,216.9 crore in revenue from operations in Q1 FY27, registering an 89% year-on-year increase. The company delivered around 83,173 electric scooters during the quarter, highlighting continued demand for its products.

A major improvement came in Ather’s operating performance. The company reported positive EBITDA of approximately ₹9 crore, compared with an EBITDA loss of around ₹106 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This improvement suggests that higher sales volumes and better operating efficiency are beginning to strengthen the company’s underlying business economics.

Ather also managed to significantly reduce its net loss. Its net loss fell 71% to ₹51.1 crore, compared with the same period last year. However, the company remains in a net-loss position, meaning the latest results represent progress towards profitability rather than the achievement of full profitability.

Beyond scooter sales, Ather is also developing additional revenue streams through services such as software, charging infrastructure, accessories and after-sales support. These businesses can help the company reduce its dependence on vehicle sales over time.

The company is also expanding its manufacturing capacity to support future growth. With India’s electric two-wheeler market becoming increasingly competitive, Ather’s ability to scale production while improving margins will be crucial.

Overall, Ather’s Q1 FY27 results indicate a significant improvement in its financial position. The combination of higher sales, sharply lower losses and positive EBITDA suggests that the company is gradually moving towards a more sustainable and profitable business model.
