Meet The Youngest Y-Combinator General Partner From Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Harshita Arora’s journey is anything but ordinary. Hailing from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, Harshita always loved designing which eventually drew her toward software development and building apps of her own. Challenging convention in a country like India, with rigid traditional education system, she made the bold choice of dropping out of school in her 8th standard to focus entirely on her passion for technology.

Arora was 13 when she started coding. At 16, she built a crypto portfolio management app called Crypto Price Tracker, that was featured by Apple and later acquired. Her early technical achievements earned her national recognition in 2020 when she received the Bal Shakti Puraskar, one of India’s highest honours for young achievers, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She moved to San Fransisco on an O-1 visa, given to individuals with extraordinary abilities, to immerse herself headfirst in the global tech ecosystem. She applied to Y- Combinator with her co-founders.

In 2020, she entered Y-Combinator’s Summer Batch. When their initial startup idea was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Harshita and her co-founders pivoted. With zero background in transport logistics, they started visiting California truck stops to find how drivers paid for fuel. They soon realised that the entire trucking payment system was broken.

To fix this, they built AtoB, now a Series C Company, offering transparent pricing, instant payouts, and modern financial tools to thousands of fleets across the United States. The company scaled into a major valued business, which was an extraordinary milestone for someone of Harshita’s age.

Arora was officially named as a full-time General Partner at YC. Achieving this at an age of 25 is quite rare because it takes years for people to climb this ladder typical of traditional venture capital.

After starting out as YC’s youngest-ever Visiting Partner, she transitioned her role to backing and shaping the next generation of global innovators. Harshita Arora’s story stands as the quintessential proof that no matter how unconventionally you start, if you are driven and strong-headed, you will eventually reach where you want to be.
